Some FPV flying that isn’t too crazy. Wind and rain have precluded flights ops this week for the most part so I just had to do something today. It’s nice to see the swamp really starting to come back to life after the long winter.

If you like lakes/ponds, you will enjoy this one. It’s a bit long at 7.5 minutes, but the late afternoon views are quite lovely.

My manual mode journey continues…slowly. This is very difficult stuff. I have a deeper appreciation for the amazing skills of other pilots that make this look effortless. For now, I’m happy to have crashes that don’t destroy the aircraft!

Here’s five minutes of vertigo-inducing video from today’s training flights. I’m just beginning my journey with this kind of drone flying and it is immensely satisfying. I can’t wait to do this when the skies are glorious! For now I’m just glad it stopped raining for a bit.

After an expensive crash yesterday, I realized I need a lot more practice flying FPV in full manual mode, so I went to an open area and put in about an hour of practice. Afterward, I felt I deserved some “just for fun” flying. That’s the video. Later I shot the stills below.

As always, VERTIGO WARNING! The crash occurs at 4:00. It was non-fatal and because the drone settled upright, I didn’t have to go out on the ice to retrieve it. Whew!
