From Chippers’ Jason Eaton: “…every person and piece of equipment has a responsibility, and it all needs to happen in order with safety and efficiency at the forefront of everyone’s minds. A lot of planning goes into a job like this, and a very thorough job briefing is a must. This sets the tone and let’s everyone know what is expected of them. Glad you noticed😊”
I apologize for the imperfect stabilization. It was quite windy. Video is below stills.

Here’s five minutes of vertigo-inducing video from today’s training flights. I’m just beginning my journey with this kind of drone flying and it is immensely satisfying. I can’t wait to do this when the skies are glorious! For now I’m just glad it stopped raining for a bit.

Seriously, do NOT watch the video if you get motion sickness.
After an expensive crash yesterday, I realized I need a lot more practice flying FPV in full manual mode, so I went to an open area and put in about an hour of practice. Afterward, I felt I deserved some “just for fun” flying. That’s the video. Later I shot the stills below.
Notice I kept getting closer and closer. Again, VERTIGO WARNING for the video!

As promised: some soothing sunset shots.

Some explanation is in order. When I arrived at the river, there was a mile-long stretch above and below the falls with a huge ice jam. I shot a couple of FPV runs up and down the jam, then I took some stills with a different drone. As I was packing up to leave, I suddenly heard tremendous cracking and crunching sounds. I looked over at the river and saw the ice floes flying by! I quickly launched another drone and took the last photo in the series, and the last two clips in the video. The final timelapse shot in the video shows what happened to all that ice that left the upper part of the falls. Fascinating!
Video is below stills. Last two photos are closest thing I got to before-and-after shots.
