This set of photos are my favorite so far—or among my favorites. The low light of this time of year as we approach winter solstice creates skies that to me have a sacred beauty, even though the cold and darkness are tough on this aged descendant of Australopithecus, Lucy and our African ancestors.

I’m not a huge fan of the cold and dark either, which makes it all the more important to get out there and see what I can see every day…and share it here!
